Baku. 11 December. REPORT.AZ/ The Georgian government has rebuffed the appointment of career American diplomat, Bridget Brink, as the US ambassador to this country, Report informs citing Foreign Policy.
The publication writes that 'some in the Georgian government believe she is too favorable toward a pro-Western former president Mikheil Saakashbili, according to several diplomatic sources'.
The author of the article supposes that the founder of Georgian Dream Bidzina Ivanishvili was behind the decision.
Bridget Brink is the high ranking diplomat with more than 20 years of experience of work in different positions.
Brink has worked at the US embassy to Georgia for many years.
Since 2015 up to now Brink has been the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
