Expert: Protesters in Armenia act against interests of their country

Protesters in Armenia are attempting to derail the peace process and are acting against the interests of their country and all other stakeholders in the region, American journalist, national security analyst, and lawyer Irina Tsukerman told Report.

"The protests in Armenia are being promoted by the usual crowd of revanchists. Their rhetoric is very similar to what Armenian lobbyists and their supporters in the United States are sharing on social networks," she said.

This doesn't seem like a serious effort to get anything done, but rather a tool to gain leverage on certain issues, Tsukerman said.

"Is this another 'racketeering' to solicit donations from supporters in the US? Or is there a more sinister attempt to change foreign policy and return to violence?" the expert questioned. At the same time, she confidently said that "in any case, it is obvious that they will not achieve their goal."
