Ex-wife of Russian billionaire running for mayor of Yerevan

Natalya Rotenberg-Arzakantsyan, the ex-wife of Russian billionaire Arkady Rotenberg, is running for mayor of Yerevan, Report informs via Armenian media.

Her candidacy was nominated on August 20 at the first congress of the Power of the Motherland party.

“The party nominated me for the post of mayor of Yerevan. Of course, many may doubt it, but I will try to fulfill this role with dignity,” said Rotenberg.

She believes that it is impossible to move forward without a party in a parliamentary country.

Rotenberg noted that 91 parties are currently registered in Armenia.

According to her, Yerevan and Armenia, in general, have many problems and their solution will take a long time.

The next elections of the mayor of Yerevan are scheduled for 2023.
