Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said the European Union (EU) had demanded that Tbilisi repeal several pieces of legislation.
According to Report's Georgian bureau, the measures in question include the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence and the legislative package on Family Values and Protection of Minors. The EU has previously formally called on Georgia to repeal both laws.
Kobakhidze stressed that the laws are of fundamental importance for protecting the country's national identity and sovereignty.
The prime minister also said the EU had demanded that Georgia join sanctions against Russia.
"This demand could have serious consequences for the Georgian economy," Kobakhidze said.
He added that the European Union had threatened Georgia over visa liberalization and had imposed various conditions and requirements on the country.
