Erdogan: We want to take steps as trio of Turkiye-Syria-Russia

"We want to take steps as a trio of Turkiye-Syria-Russia," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the plane while returning from Turkmenistan, Report informs.

Erdogan said in response to a journalist's question 'Whether a joint decision and coordination with Russia will be implemented in a possible ground operation to the north of Syria' that both issues are not on the agenda at the moment but are among the many topics that may be on the agenda in the future.

Erdogan emphasized that they want to take steps as a trio of Syria-Turkiye-Russia:

"For this, first our intelligence agencies, then our defense ministers, and then our foreign ministers should come together."

The head of state noted that after their talks, the leaders would meet: "I also suggested it to Vladimir Putin, who was optimistic about it. Thus, we will start chained negotiations in this direction."
