Türkiye is ready to do its part in supplying Iraq with the defense industry products it needs, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at a joint press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, Report informs.
Erdoğan said trade turnover between Türkiye and Iraq stood at $17 billion last year, adding that Ankara wants to increase this figure.
He also said Iraq had undertaken to supply Türkiye with one million barrels of oil.
"The minister said: 'We can supply Türkiye with oil - one million barrels. Do not depend on anyone else.' That is right, there is no need to depend on anyone else. We are neighbors. Hopefully, the supply of one million barrels of oil will meet our needs," Erdoğan said.
