Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has met with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian during the 11th D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Summit in Cairo, Repoirt informs via the Office of the Turkish leader.
It is noted that the parties discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues. Erdogan stated that Turkey-Iran relations are the foundation of regional stability: "The two countries have the potential to reach the target of $30 billion in mutual trade turnover. We can achieve this by developing bilateral relations."
The Turkish leader also emphasized that his country advocates for a stable and secure Syria, completely free from terrorism, where refugees can voluntarily return: "It is necessary to preserve Syria's territorial integrity."
