Erdogan: Turkey will always remember Merkel's assistance over EU

Another aspect of Merkel's diplomatic experience is Turkey-EU relations, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

"As Turkey, we will always remember with gratitude the assistance of Merkel, who helped us to overcome the dozens of difficulties on the way to full membership in the European Union. In addition to many issues, we spoke about the importance we attach to the development of Turkish-EU relations," he added.
