Erdogan: Togg electric car is Türkiye's another technological success

Turkish electric car Togg is another technological success of the country - from design to software and environmental innovations, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today, speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for a battery production plant in the western province of Bursa, Report informs citing Anadolu.

The new facility, which is being built in partnership between the Turkish Automobiles (Togg) initiative group and the Chinese energy company Farasis, will make an important contribution to the promotion of domestic electric vehicles, he said.

"The global market for electric vehicles is expanding, and in order to strengthen its position, it is also necessary to be at the forefront of battery development," Erdogan stressed.

The Turkish leader noted at the same time that the range of areas in which the batteries produced in Turkish Bursa will be used is wide and is not limited to the automotive industry.

Erdogan said that a total of 30 billion liras will be invested in the project of the enterprise which covers an area of 607,000 square meters.
