Erdogan says Turkiye not supportive of Finland, Sweden's NATO bid

"We do not welcome the Finland and Sweden accession to NATO," said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Report informs.

"Because the previous government made a wrong decision on the NATO issue regarding Greece, so you know Greece's attitude towards Turkiye, relying on NATO," he said.

Erdogan said that the Scandinavian countries had become a breeding ground for terrorist organizations:

"The PKK and the DHKP-C have also established themselves in Sweden and the Netherlands. They are even represented in their parliaments. From this point of view, we can't take a positive approach to their entering the Alliance."

The head of state also spoke about Ankara's efforts to end the Ukrainian-Russian war:

"I urge the presidents of Russia and Ukraine to stop the war. There can be no better war. The losses are obvious. We will continue our calls for peace in our further discussions."
