Erdogan: Developments in region demonstrated once again that Turkiye is important for EU

The developments in our region have concretely demonstrated once again that Turkiye is important in many fields for the EU, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a news conference in the capital Ankara alongside Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

"I would like to state that I thanked Draghi for Italy's support for further improvement of our relationship with the union. At the current stage, the main issue is to strengthen Turkiye's membership perspective by realizing the added value it will bring to the European Union. I believe that this support will become stronger," Erdogan said.
