Erdogan comments on plans of New Zealand terrorist to kill him

"The ideology of the New Zealand terrorist, who targets our country, our nation, me personally, is clearly influening the western society," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said commenting on the recent terrorist attack on mosques in New Zealand which claimed 49 lives.

He noted that this terrorist act was targeting Islam and was premeditated: "I strongly condemn the terror attack against the Al Noor Mosque in New Zealand and Muslim worshippers. We invite the whole world, especially Western countries, to urgently take precautions against this dangerous trend threatening entire humanity."

Notably, 49 people died as a result of a terrorist attack on a mosque in New Zealand on March 15. In a statement, disseminated before the attack, the terrorist voiced death threats to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German chancellor Angela Merkel.
