Erdogan, Austrian chancellor discuss Türkiye-EU relations

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has outlined his views and expectations regarding relations with the European Union, Report informs.

He made the remarks during joint press statements with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker.

"I emphasized that steps to be taken by the EU, especially the modernization of the Customs Union and the visa liberalization dialogue, are in all our interests," Erdogan said.

He also touched on regional and global issues.

Erdogan stressed that ensuring Syria's territorial integrity and unity remains one of Türkiye's priority goals.

"We consider it important for Austria to contribute to the reconstruction process in Syria," the Turkish president added.

The Austrian chancellor, for his part, said relations with Türkiye are important and that the expansion of mutual cooperation is planned.
