The situation around the acquisition of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems (s-400) by Ankara will be discussed at the upcoming meeting of the presidents of Turkey and the US Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Donald Trump "on the sidelines" of the G20 summit in Osaka, Report informs citing Turkish media.
Notably, G20 summit will be held on June 28-29.
US is actively opposed to the purchase of Russian s-400 systems by Turkey, threatening Ankara with sanctions, including the exception of the program of creation of f-35 fighters. In turn, the official Ankara has repeatedly stated the issue of the acquisition of Russian S-400 and the country did not intend to abandon these systems, despite the threat of sanctions.
Earlier, the Turkish President said that the supply of Russian air defense systems would begin in the first half of July.
