Eight killed in gunfire launched by soldier in Russian military unit

Eight people died, two others were wounded as a result of a gunfire launched by a soldier in one of a military units in Russia's Zabaykalye, Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Report informs citing RIA Novosti that, according to the information, the soldier fired at his fellows-in-arm during a changing of the guard.

The soldier was detained. Those wounded received medical aid.

Motives behind the incident are being investigated.
