Dnipro mayor advises women, children, elderly to leave city

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov has recommended those who left the city not to return yet, and also to leave certain categories of citizens - women, children, and the elderly, Report informs citing UNIAN.

Speaking at a briefing he also recommended leaving the city for those not working in industrial plants and critical infrastructure.

"The situation in Donbass is heating up. April will be `hot’. A big request to everyone, who has the opportunity, to leave. I would recommend waiting in a safer place," the Dnipro mayor advised.

Borys Filatov asked migrants from "hot spots" in the east of the country to transit to the western regions, as it would be safer there.

“Many people are now moving through our regional center. It helps us a lot that a direct evacuation train from Pokrovsk has been launched. Nevertheless, a large number of people travel by private transport and buses. I recommend them to move on,” he said.

According to him, at present, utilities and hospitals in Dnipro are operating normally; there is a supply of medicines for several months. In addition, the city is expecting a shipment of medicines from Israel.
