Coronavirus in Iran: Death toll hits 1,934

Iran's death toll from the coronavirus outbreak increased by 122 in the past 24 hours to 1,934, Iranian Health Ministry spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said on Tuesday.
"The total number of people diagnosed with the disease increased by 1,762 in the past 24 hours, to 24,811. A total of 8,913 people recovered from the virus".
The new coronavirus outbreak emerged in late December 2019 in Wuhan, the most populous city in Central China. The infection has spread to 197 countries so far. A total of 386,962-confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection including 16,751 deaths, 102,501 recovered.
On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as Covid-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
