Russia has reported 6 248 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country's official number to 739 947 Report says, citing RIA Novosti.
According to the Operational Headquarters of the country, 175 people have died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total toll to 11 614 — a rate considerably lower than in many other states hit hard by the pandemic.
So far, 512 825 coronavirus patients have recovered from the virus.
Moscow lifted restrictions including compulsory travel passes on June 8, a move welcomed by residents who rushed out to enjoy the streets and parks. Many other regions lifted lockdown restrictions ahead of a July 1 national vote despite the pandemic.
However, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, has extended Russia's ban on international flights until Aug. 1 due to the coronavirus.
