Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, is participating in the NATO Military Committee meeting in Brussels, Armenia’s Defense Ministry said, Report informs via Armenian media.
"A delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan is on a working visit to Brussels on January 15-17. The purpose is to participate in the NATO Military Committee meeting in the format of chiefs of defense staffs of member and partner states," the ministry stated.
The minister stated that the meeting aims to increase awareness about modern global and regional threats and challenges, as well as to search for collective solutions to mitigate them.
Additionally, the ministry noted that during the meeting, discussions are being held on a number of topics such as climate change, widespread instability, new and destructive technologies, the resilience of vital infrastructure in the era of hybrid and cyber threats, as well as issues regarding partner states' participation in operations and missions under NATO leadership.
