Chief of Armenian General Staff mulls situation in region with Russian envoy

Major-General Eduard Asryan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, discussed with Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin issues of military cooperation between the countries and the situation in the region, Report informs citing the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry.

"On August 22, Chief of the General Staff of Armenia, Major General Eduard Asryan, received Russian Ambassador Sergey Kopyrkin. The military attaché of the embassy, ​​Colonel Igor Shcherbakov, also took part in the meeting. Issues related to military cooperation between the two countries, as well as regional security, were discussed at the meeting," the statement reads.

Kopyrkin congratulated Asryan on taking office as Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces and wished him success in fulfilling his responsible mission.
