The epidemiological situation in Georgia is deteriorating, the situation is approaching peak values," Director General of the National Centre for Disease Control and Public Health, Chief Epidemiologist Amiran Gamkrelidze said, the Georgian bureau of Report informs.
He said that the reason for this is the non-observance of the established rules and recommendations by citizens.
“All indicators show worsening of the epidemiological situation in the country. During the last week, almost 500-600 cases of infection were recorded daily. The number of active COVID patients is also growing, and there is a gradual congestion in the healthcare sector,” he added.
The chief epidemiologist once again called on the Georgian population to comply with all recommendations in connection with COVID-19.
