Belarus to hold presidential elections in 2020

The presidential elections in Belarus are to be held in 2020, while elections to the Lower House of Parliament will be postponed to 2019.
Report informs citing the RIA Novosti that the due statement came from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
"The presidential elections should be held in 2020. It will be held in 2020, no matter what happens in our government. We will not play with the people, we will not arrange political games... Presidential elections will be held in strict accordance with the law within the terms established by the Constitution," Lukashenko said during his annual address to the Belarusian people and Parliament.
According to the head of state, elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus (Lower House of Parliament) will be held this year.
He proposes to hold early parliamentary elections on November 7, 2019.
