The Armenian government intends to extend the state of emergency introduced in the republic to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during an online briefing, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

"As for extending the state of emergency, there is such a probability. I think that we will extend the state of emergency," he said.

The situation with the coronavirus spread remains tense in the republic. Pashinyan announced on June 7 that the real number of infected people in the country could exceed 100,000.

According to the Armenian Health Ministry's data, the number of coronavirus cases increased to 13,675, as 350 people caught COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

The country's deaths tally climbed by six over the past day, reaching 217.

So far, 71,405 tests have been performed, a total of 4,451 patients have recovered, while the treatment of 8,933 patients continues.
