The Armenian regulator may block the broadcast "Vesti Nedeli" with Dmitry Kiselev following a similar decision regarding "Vecera s Vladimirom Solovyovim," Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan told journalists in parliament, Report informs via Armenian media.
When asked about the possibility of closure, the official stated: "Yes, definitely."
Earlier, Russian Ambassador Sergey Kopyrkin was summoned to the country's Foreign Ministry and was handed a note of protest regarding the "Vesti Nedeli" broadcast that aired on January 12. The Armenian Foreign Ministry believes that one of the reports contained "artificially generated narratives aimed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia."
Kiselev's program featured a report about Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the opening of regional communications, and the Armenian government's decision to support the EU accession process. Kiselev himself responded to the Armenian side's dissatisfaction, stating in an interview that he "doesn't understand which specific statement offended Armenian brothers." The TV host emphasized that "there is nothing to comment on yet."
