Armenia eyes increasing defense budget 11% next year

The Armenian government intends to increase the defense budget by 11 percent in 2022, which will amount to 345 billion drams ($720 million), Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in the parliament of the republic during the discussion of the draft budget for 2022, Report informs referring to TASS.
“The defense budget for 2022 is 11% more than in 2021, amounting to more than 345 billion drams. We intend to create a professional army in Armenia, but we will do it with smooth, thoughtful steps,” he said.
