Air Force: Ukraine needs air defense systems, fighters

"The enemy is attacking the territory of Ukraine using various weapons. For about a month now, it has been using guided bombs weighing 250 kg, 500 kg, 1 ton and 1.5 tons," Yuriy Ihnat, spokesperson of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, told Report.

“They are equipped with GPS navigation, which allows them to strike from the occupied territories of Ukraine and the territory of Russia. Therefore, Ukrainian air defense systems cannot hit them. This poses a threat to the regions of Ukraine,” Ihnat said.

He noted that Ukraine needs air defense systems and fighters capable of hitting targets at a greater distance:

"For example, F-16 fighters are the most realistic option at the moment. In addition, the enemy also strikes with S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. They also use tactical aviation along the entire front, as well as winged aircraft of the X-101 type, X-555, and Caliber. The Ukrainian Air Force also strikes at the enemy almost every day, as far as the situation and weather conditions allow."
