The Investigation Committee (IC) of Russia and the FSB detained an employee of the largest diamond mining company Alrosa and its two associates for stealing more than 500 diamonds worth millions of dollars, official representative of SK of Russia Svetlana Petrenko told journalists.

Report informs citing the RIA Novosti, 

According to the IC, the group consisted of three people: the employee of Alrosa, Elena Kanunnikova, responsible for the theft of stones, middleman Vladimir Tabidze, and also Vladimir Gordinsky, who was responsible for the sale of stolen goods.

“When trying to steal another batch of diamonds worth more than 22 million rubles ... On June 6, members of a criminal group were detained red-handed,” Petrenko said.

Suspects were sent into custody.
