Tbilisi. 7 September. REPORT.AZ/ 39 candidates have appealed to the Central Election Commission (CEC) in Georgia for participation in the presidential elections.
Georgian Bureau of Report News Agency informs that, according to Georgia's CEC spokesperson, Ana Mikeladze, 20 applicants were nominated from the initiative group, while 19 from the political parties: "Only 4 out of 39 applicants have been registered as a candidate for presidency. They are Mikhail Saluashvili from “People's Voice” , Zviad Bagdavadze from the New Georgia Civic Platform, Shalva Natelashvili from the Labor Party and David Bakradze from the European Georgia party.
Notably, presidential elections in Georgia will be held on October 28 this year. People intending to run for presidency should submit at least 23,923 signatures to the CEC 40 days prior to the election day.
