2011

On November 7, 2011, he was elected a deputy to the fourth convocation parliament from the 61st Neftchala constituency. He is the chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Regional Issues. He is the head of Azerbaijan’s delegation in the Parliamentary Union, and in the CIS Parliamentary Assembly and head of the Azerbaijan-Russia parliamentary working group.

1994

He was the deputy of the Supreme Council of the 11th and 12th convocation in the Azerbaijan SSR. He was elected the Milli Majlis deputy of the first and third convocations in the Republic of Azerbaijan. From October 1994 until December 2005 he has been the first deputy speaker of the parliament.

1987

Arif Rahimzade worked as the first secretary of the Guba district Regional Committee in 1987-1989, chief of department at the Central Committee of the Azerbaijan Communist Party in 1989, chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1991, State Inspector of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1993-1994. He is a member of the Political Council and Directors’ Board of the New Azerbaijan Party.

1971

From 1971 he was the chief referent at the Ministers’ Council of the Azerbaijan SSR, from 1974 an instructor, department chief, deputy department chief at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan.

1963

From 1963 he was the research worker at the Azerbaijan Scientific Research Institute of Cattle-breeding, from 1967 he worked as an inspector at the Leningrad Province Fruit and Vegetable Inspection, was a research worker at the Crimean practical station, from 1969 he worked as the scientific secretary and head research worker at the Azerbaijan Scientific Research Feeding Institute.

1941

Arif Rahimzade was born in Ganja on February 24, 1941. He graduated from the faculty of agronomy of the Azerbaijan Institute of Agriculture and the Baku Higher Party School. He has a PhD degree in agriculture.
