WHO: 194 countries have already started vaccination against COVID-19

194 countries and territories out of 220 have started vaccination against the coronavirus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a Geneva briefing.

"Out of 220 countries and economies, 194 have already started vaccination against COVID-19, while 26 countries have not yet started," he said.

According to the WHO's head, seven countries out of 26 have received the vaccine and can start a vaccination campaign. Five more states "should receive the vaccine in the coming days."

The remaining 14 countries have not started immunization for various reasons. Some are "not ready yet," and others "plan to start in the coming weeks and months," Ghebreyesus explained.
