Western Europe starts first COVID-19 vaccination

The UK is launching its first coronavirus vaccination in Western Europe, Report says, referring to RIA Novosti.

As part of Europe's first COVID-19 vaccine operation, the country's most physically vulnerable residents - nursing home patients, medical and social workers, as well as people over the age of 80 - will be vaccinated against the disease.

On December 2, the UK became the first country to certify a drug manufactured by Pfizer / BioNTech (USA and Germany) for mass use at the end of all clinical trials.

The American Moderna and the British AstraZeneca (created in collaboration with the University of Oxford) are also under discussion by the regulator, but it is not yet known when they will be approved.

Authorities have promised that drugs will spread rapidly across the country and urged people not to refuse treatments.
