US urges Russia to stop hostilities in Ukraine

The US will continue to call for Russia to stop its actions in Ukraine and for the ceasefire, Ambassador Julianne Smith, US Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), said at an online press briefing, Report informs.

She reminded that the position of the US is unchanged “the United States will defend every inch of NATO territory with the full force of American power,” as President Biden said.

Answering the question, she noted that they are not interested in expanding the conflict.

Meanwhile, she praised the desire of some NATO countries to increase military spending.

As for the NATO troops in Eastern Europe, the ambassador said that the US and its NATO allies have already started this process even before the conflict between Russia and Ukraine started.
