The Senate of the US Congress unanimously approved Christine Wormuth's candidacy, nominated by President Joe Biden, for the post of country's Army Secretary.

Report informs citing TASS that 52-year-old Wormuth, who will be the first woman in the position of the Army Secretary, will be sworn in soon.

During the 44th President Barack Obama administration, she served as Deputy Secretary of Defense for Policy. Wormuth also served on the White House's National Security Council. Prior to that, she was also an expert at the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies.
