The United States has expanded its sanctions list on Lebanon due to ties with the Hezbollah group.
According to Report, citing the Naharnet portal, the restrictions include the leader of the Christian Marada party, Suleiman Frangieh, who received financial support from militants to advance his political career, as well as the deputy head of Hezbollah's political council, Mahmoud Qmati, for obstructing the peace process between Lebanon and Israel.
On May 21, Washington imposed sanctions on three lawmakers, a former minister, four security officials, and Iran's ambassador to Beirut, Mohammad Reza Sheibani.
