Over the past day, the US registered 56,381 coronavirus cases, and 1,038 COVID-related deaths, Report informs, citing Johns Hopkins University, which summarizes data from federal and local authorities, media, and other open sources.
A day earlier, medicals specialists in the US recorded more than 58,000 cases of COVID-19 and 854 deaths.
The largest daily increase (about 300,000) in coronavirus infections in the United States was observed in early 2021. In January, the country also recorded the highest daily COVID mortality - over 4,300 deaths.
In total, since the pandemic onset, the United States has recorded over 32.3 million cases of infection. To date, the country’s coronavirus death toll has exceeded 576,000.
