UN Secretary-General calls for humanitarian pause in Ukraine

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has called on the parties (Russia and Ukraine) to a humanitarian truce in Ukraine from April 21 for four days in connection with the celebration of Easter by Orthodox Christians, Report informs, citing TASS.
“Today, I am calling for a four-day Holy Week humanitarian pause starting Maundy Thursday until Sunday, April 24, to ensure the opening of a series of humanitarian corridors,” he said.
The UN is ready to send humanitarian convoys to Mariupol, Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk in the event of an Easter truce in Ukraine, Guterres said.
