UN: Over 9,300 Ukrainian civilians killed in Russian-Ukrainian war

Since February 2022, more than 9,300 Ukrainian civilians have died and 16,600 have been injured in the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war, according to the UN, Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq said at a briefing, the US bureau of Report informs.

The UN official expressed the concern of the UN secretary-general in connection with the airstrikes of the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian city, which killed seven (later the death toll rose to 9 - ed.), dozens of people were injured.

UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine Denise Brown said the situation in the region is deteriorating day by day. Russian airstrikes on August 8 on homes and other civilian areas in the Donetsk region have killed civilians. Russia’s ongoing attacks in Ukraine are a serious violation of international humanitarian right, Farhan Haq added.

As a result of two airstrikes inflicted by the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, at least nine people were killed and 82 people were injured.
