From July 6, UN headquarters staff in New York will begin to gradually return to full-time work in the light of the easing of sanitary restrictions imposed in the largest US metropolis due to the coronavirus pandemic, Report informs with reference to the letter of Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to the UN staff.

The letter states that the coronavirus incidence has decreased in the city in recent months. Guterres noted that from July 6, the UN headquarters in New York will meet the requirements for a complete return to the office, considering possible restrictions on the maximum number of people in the building.

It means that from July 6, 2021, it is expected that all personnel who have worked five days a week remotely since the approval of the alternative schedule in March 2020 will gradually return to their jobs.

Guterres also expressed confidence that the many benefits of working remotely will be taken into account in scheduling the staff of the organization in the future.
