The British government is considering imposing sanctions against Israeli officials who have made inflammatory statements regarding Palestinians, as well as Chinese companies supplying military technology to Russia, according to Prime Minister Keir Starmer's address in the House of Commons.
Starmer revealed that Foreign Secretary David Lammy, during his upcoming visit to Beijing, will demand the lifting of sanctions on British MPs who have criticized the human rights situation in China. However, he also emphasized that the Labour government is prepared to collaborate with China on matters of trade and the environment.
Furthermore, the British Prime Minister did not rule out the possibility of sanctioning Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir due to their remarks concerning Palestinians.
