Britain has completed the operation to evacuate civilians and soldiers from Afghanistan, UK ambassador in this country Laurie Bristow said.
Report informs, citing TASS, that since August 13, the country has evacuated around 15,000 civilians and 1,000 soldiers from Afghanistan.
Bristow said it is time to end this phase of operation, noting that there are people who still want to leave the country.
The diplomat added that the UK would continue to do everything possible to help those people. In a video message from the Kabul airport, he said the country did not forget about the brave people of Afghanistan, who deserve to live in peace and security.
