U.S. mandates wearing masks on public transportation

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has made it mandatory to wear masks on public transport, including on airplanes and trains, from late Monday night local time due to the coronavirus situation, Report informs, citing the CDC statement.

The restrictions will apply to passengers on public transport, in particular on trains, metro, buses, taxis, and ships, as well as on airplanes. The requirement also covers all arrivals in and departures from the United States and passengers traveling around the country.

Transport workers - drivers, conductors, and other employees - will also have to wear masks. The CDC specifies that masks must 'cover the mouth and nose' when a passenger is waiting for transport, boarding, traveling, or disembarking.
