Turkmenistan launches production of Jet A-1 aviation fuel

The Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR) has launched the production of a new brand of aviation fuel, Jet A-1, Report informs.

Jet A-1 is an analog of aviation kerosene TS-1, which is also produced at the TCOR. Jet A-1 is used in gas turbine engines of passenger aircraft, including Airbus and Boeing airliners.

New products from TCOR meet all international aviation standards and are certified by the Main State Service "Türkmenstandartlary." Jet A-1 fuel is produced by deep purification of raw materials at an installation with an annual capacity of 525,000 tons. The complex was designed and supplied by the US company Merichem Chemicals and Refinery Services LLC, but the assembly and installation were carried out by Turkmen specialists.

The first batch of Jet A-1 will be sold through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.
