At least 32 people have been confirmed dead and five others seriously injured after a grisly accident involving five vehicles along Fort Portal-Kasese highway on Tuesday night, Report states, citing TASS.
Ugandan Red Cross officials said that the accident occurred on the road in Kasese when a truck carrying funeral personnel from the Bendibujiao area bordering western Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo suddenly collided with another car.
Red Cross officials also said that it was dark when the two cars collided.
Due to road construction, the road was narrow, and then three more cars collided one after another. The accident killed 32 people and injured five people.
The injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to police data, Uganda has at least 20,000 traffic accidents every year, resulting in more than 2,000 deaths.
