Total number of people infected with COVID in India exceeds 26M

Over the past day, doctors in India have registered 259,551 new cases of coronavirus infection, and the total number of those infected during the entire epidemic in the country has reached 26,031,991, Report informs referring to TASS.

According to the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the number of deaths has increased by 4,209 over the past day, to 291,331.

The daily death rate in India remains high. In May, it exceeded 4,000 for the tenth time. An anti-record for the daily increase in detected deaths was registered on May 19 in India and amounted to 4,529.
