Taiwan’s TSMC estimates its loss from quake at nearly $60M

The world’s largest semiconductor manufacturer Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) has estimated its losses from the Taiwan earthquake at approximately $60 million, according to the Taiwanese newspaper Commercial Times, Report informs referring to Kommersant newspaper.
However, the company believes that the impact of the earthquake on production “will be limited.”
TSMC clarified that in order to ensure the safety of personnel, some of the company’s production facilities were evacuated. Part of the production capacity was suspended.
On April 3 morning, earthquakes of magnitude 7.5 and 6.6 were recorded off the east coast of Taiwan. According to the latest data, four people were killed and more than 90 were injured.
