Syria applies to join BRICS

Syria wants to join BRICS and has already applied for this, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Bashar Jaafari told TASS on the sidelines of the forum on "North Caucasus: New geostrategic opportunities," Report informs.
"We are very interested in joining BRICS and have sent a formal request to join the organization," he said.
