Strong earthquake hits off Indonesia coast

A magnitude 6.8 earthquake shook the coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, Report says, citing the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
The epicenter was reported 423 kilometers west of Palembang, South Sumatra, at a depth of 40 kilometers.
The casualties or damage were unknown. No tsunami alert was issued.
