At least 10 people have died due to a snowstorm that hit the southern United States, leading to highway closures, flight cancellations, and the closure of schools and government institutions.
Report informs via Axios that record snowfall has been observed in the states of Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida.
The National Weather Service has also warned of sharp temperature drops in the southern part of the country. "Arctic air masses will lead to widespread temperature drops during nighttime hours along the Gulf Coast and in the Southeast. The cold weather will exacerbate power outages," the portal quotes the agency's message.
