Restaurant fire kills 6, injures 3 in south China

Six people were killed and three others injured in a fire at a restaurant under renovation in Haikou, capital of south China's Hainan Province, local authorities said Thursday, Report informs via Xinhua.
The fire broke out at the restaurant on the east side of Xiuying Avenue. The city's fire and rescue command center received an emergency call at 2:45 p.m. (GMT+8) and dispatched crews to the scene, according to the Haikou municipal fire and rescue bureau.
The blaze was extinguished at 3:10 p.m., and three rounds of search and rescue operations have since been completed.
The three people injured are in a stable condition, the bureau said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
