On Thursday, nearly 170 rallies and manifestations are expected in France at the call of several trade unions and youth organizations to demand higher wages due to a decline in the population's purchasing power amid rising inflation.

Report informs, citing TASS, that the organizers of the protest actions primarily demand higher minimum wages and support indexation of wages, social benefits, and pensions due to the 2.8% increase in inflation rate year-on-year and record dividends of the companies.

Place de la Bastille will see a major rally this noon at which trade union leaders are expected to speak. The event will involve several candidates in the upcoming presidential elections. Then the rally participants will march towards the Bercy quarter. Youth organizations will hold their action on Nation Square.
